Ways To Save On Your Phone Bill
According to the CITA or the Cellular Telephone and Internet Association, there are over 100 companies providing different forms of phone service all across the country. This means you are using one of them at home and in a recession, you have to figure out different Methods to Save on your phone bill.
But how do we do that? Well we first have to understand that the different providers offer us land based phones, wireless communication and broadband internet. Some of these companies offer two or three of these services and since the competition is intense, you are sure to find someone who could be offering you a better deal compared to the one you are getting right now.
You will never know when is the best time to switch providers unless you check your phone bills the past few months and see if there has been a significant increase in usage. This increase depends on who you called and the location of the person you contacted.
If you don't make calls often and still the phone bill is quite high, review the miscellaneous charges. Most of the time, this is subject to tax but if you find this to be too high, perhaps now will be a good time to call your service provider and ask them to explain this further. For those who can't accept it, now is the time you should consider switching to another provider.
To do that, you have to get a quote from the different service providers and then compare each one. You can get this information by logging on to their company website or calling someone from their office and asking them to send you a quote.
While you are talking to a potential service provider on the phone, ask if there are special rates to new subscribers. They may even have a tie up with a credit card company which will save you money and at the same time earn points.
If you think you have found a better phone provider, one last thing to ask is if there are other charges that will be reflected in the phone bill. Unfortunately, a lot of people forget to ask that before they sign up and then are shocked to see other charges when they get bill.
We mentioned earlier that the frequency of your calls determines how much you pay for month especially when the rates for local and international calls vary.
To save on money for international calls, let the other party call you instead of the other way around. So you don't spend hours talking on the phone, buy prepaid cards so this will limit the time you spend on the line.
If you have a computer, talk to the other person using the free call service provided by such services such as Skype or Yahoo Messenger. As for those using their mobile phones to place calls, make them during off peak hours because you are charged a lower rate compared to peak hours.
There are Ways to Save on your phone bill and it does not always mean having to cancel your current subscription and then switching to another provider. You just have to play it smart by so the money you save can be used for other things like paying for other necessities like electricity, food, gas and clothing.

What are some ways to live a simpler life, A life less dependant on technology...a more plain life?
I want to live a simpler life, less focus on technology...maybe alot less computer, candlelight instead of lightbulbs..I dont know, any ideas?
i think reading is great - my hubby and i bought a bunch of classics we had never read - 1984 for example, and are reading it to each other at night instead of watching tv
i would say the first thing to do is make some kind of record on how much you actually use technology, then you can set about figuring out how to use it less often
for example blow drying your hair : maybe if you have a haircut that doesn't look good towel dried you need to change your style to fit into your goal of using less technology
our last camping trip reminded us how much time we spent on things we didn't miss doing at all, a lot of it was stuff we thought was really important when we were home.
maybe when it warms up a bit, you could get some ideas that way?
good luck - i really think this is a cool idea that could prove useful if everything my hubby says about "america becoming a 3rd world country" proves to be true (he's political

MLB 12: The Show Preview: You May End Up Purchasing It Twice (Game Informer)
The 2012 baseball season has already delivered more drama than a daytime soap,
and players haven't even reported to Spring Training yet. Ryan Braun, the
National League MVP, failed a drug test and may be suspended 50 games. Albert
Pujols, the star of the reigning World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals,
opted to follow the scent of money to Anahiem rather than defend his title.
The Chicago Cubs, a team desperately seeking a solution to a 100-year
championship drought, hope former Boston Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein
can work his voodoo to remove The Curse of the Billy Goat from Wrigley Field.
While video game baseball is free of the doping, betrayal, and the hundred
years of sucktitude found in its real-life counterpart, developer Sony
Computer Entertainment San Diego is making its own headlines with MLB 12: The
Show. I spoke with senior producer Jason Villa about the additions and changes
made since last season. Along with shedding light on broad changes like new
control mechanics and small nuances like tweaked CPU trade logic, Jason talked
at length about a new feature that should excite gamers of all walks. As
ludicrous as this may ...
