The Dell 5100cn Laser Printer is a powerhouse that you count on for high speed, double sided color printing among its many other features. This is a perfect printer for a networked office setting. Is it possible to use a front panel eSATA port without a specific port on the motherboard?
My case has an eSATA front panel port. However, my motherboard doesn't have a front panel connector which specifically states that it is meant for use by eSATA. Is there a way to work around this, like connecting the eSATA front panel port to a generic SATA port on the motherboard?
really you need a esata if you wanna go into your cmos and add the drive every time and turn off you pc every time to hook and unhook it sure 
you may want to use a usb drive they are slower but easy to use if you dont have an esata port
