Good choices. The 4850 will suffice for plenty of games, even though it isn't the latest card out. Usually buying the super best, latest greatest graphics card is a waste of money.
Your Core 2 Duo should be fine also. 4gb of RAM is a good choice. If you are running Windows XP/Vista 32bit you will use approximatly 3.2 gigs of the 4gb, but that is OK. As of now 32bit runs more programs because they are all mostly designed for 32bit as of this point in time. I'm sure that will change in the future.
